Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This Accessibility Statement describes the accessibility status of riccardobozzato.com under Italian law (D.Lgs. 104/2022) and the European Union (Directive 2019/882). This website is committed to ensuring accessibility for all users, regardless of their abilities or technologies used.

1. Compliance Status

riccardobozzato.com is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). The website was designed with accessibility in mind, but some elements may not fully meet all criteria.

2. Applicable Legal Requirements

This statement is issued under:

D.Lgs. 104/2022 (Implementation of EU Directive 2019/882) — accessibility obligations for websites and mobile applications of public and private entities.
AgID Regulation (Agency for Digital Italy) — guidelines for websites and mobile applications of public bodies.
Directive 2019/882 — European directive on the accessibility of digital products and services.

3. WCAG 2.1 Level AA Criteria

The four WCAG principles are:

Perceivable: all text content available as text; images with text alternatives; sufficient color contrast; non-text content with text alternatives.

Operable: functions navigable via keyboard; sufficient time to read and use content; no content that causes seizures.

Understandable: text readable and understandable; predictable appearance and behavior; assistance in form completion.

Robust: content compatible with current and future assistive technologies; names, roles, and values of interface elements correctly defined.

4. Accessibility Measures Implemented

• Semantic HTML structure with correct heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3).
• Full keyboard navigation for all interactive elements.
• Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements (:focus-visible).
• Alternative text (alt text) on all informative images.
• Reduced motion support (prefers-reduced-motion).
• Color contrast compliant with 4.5:1 (normal text) and 3:1 (large text) ratio per WCAG AA.
• Links and buttons with descriptive text, not just "click here".
• Forms with labels associated to inputs, descriptive errors, and accessible status messages.
• Page structure with ARIA landmarks (banner, navigation, main, contentinfo).
• Screen reader support (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) with descriptive text.

5. Partial Compliance — Notable Limitations

The OG image SVG text may not be fully accessible to screen readers, as text content in SVG is not always read correctly. A text alternative is being developed.

The announcement bar uses pulse animations that, while supported by prefers-reduced-motion, may not be perfectly read by all screen readers. The textual content is accessible in any case.

Some card animations (hover effects, translate) use CSS transitions that may interfere with certain screen readers. The content remains accessible regardless of the animation.

6. Techniques Used for Compliance

• Semantic HTML (HTML5).
• WAI-ARIA 1.2 (Accessible Rich Internet Applications).
• CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) for layout and presentation.
• JavaScript (React) for interactivity — all interactive elements are keyboard and screen reader accessible.

7. Assessment Tools

The website has been evaluated using:

• Lighthouse Accessibility (Chrome DevTools).
• Axe DevTools (WAVE).
• Manual testing with keyboard and screen reader (VoiceOver on macOS).
• W3C Validator for HTML and CSS.
